A piece written by a friend of mine, Alistair Hinton, for solo piano. The full title is "Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Grieg", hence the image used to the right there. Certainly not part of either school of current English music; as he is the curator of the Sorabji Archive, it's not surprising to hear a lot of Sorabji in his music. I also hear a fair bit of Brahms and Busoni. Anyway, a piece of pure quality. Performed by Donna Amato.
